Description

A Colorado motor vehicle surety bond may be required when proof of ownership is not available or the title is lost. The bond serves to financially protect the state of CO in the case of disputes regarding the vehicle. If a claim is filed on the bond, the vehicle owner may be responsible for reimbursing the claim amount. The bond starts at $100 for a 3-year term. Premiums may increase if the bond limit exceeds $6,700.
