WHEREAS, the Principal has made application to the Department of Revenue of the State of Alabama for a certificate of title on that certain

And under the provisions of Section 32-8-36 or Section 32-20-24 Code of Alabama 1975, the Department requires this bond before a
certificate of title will be issued.
THE CONDITIONS OF THIS OBLIGATION ARE SUCH THAT:

If the aforesaid Principal shall indemnify any prior owner and lienholder and any subsequent purchaser of the vehicle or person acquiring
any security interest in it, and their respective successors in interest, against any expense, loss or damage, including reasonable
attorney’s fees, by reason of the issuance of the certificate of title of the vehicle or on account of any defect in or undisclosed security
interest upon the right, title and interest of the applicant in and to the vehicle, then this obligation shall be void; otherwise, it shall remain in
full force and effect.
PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that any interested person has a right of action to recover on the bond for any breach of its conditions, but the
aggregate liability of the surety to all persons shall not exceed the amount of the bond.

That said bond shall remain in full force and effect for a period of three (3) years after date of said bond or until the vehicle is no longer
registered in this state and the currently valid certificate of title is surrendered to the Commissioner of Revenue of the State of Alabama,
unless, the Commissioner of Revenue of the State of Alabama has been notified of the pendency of an action to recover on the bond.

(1) If anyone other than an executive officer, managing partner or managing member is signing on behalf of a company, the bond must be
accompanied by a resolution from the company’s board of directors, managing partner or managing member authorizing the signature on behalf
of the company. Please state position with company beside signature.
(2) If bond is in two names, both must sign. If it is a partnership, all partners must sign.

(3) (Agent of Surety Company) – Person signing as agent of Surety must be listed on an attached insurance Power of Attorney. If a limited Power of
Attorney has been granted, then the Power of Attorney must specifically refer to Certificate of Title Surety Bonds.

1. Print the MVT 10-1 (Certificate of Title Surety Bond).
2. The MVT 10-1 must be taken to an insurance company , authorized to do business in
Alabama, for completion.
3. Sign and print your name as it appears on the MVT-1 area marked ‘principal’.
4. Upon completion of the MVT 10-1 by the insurance company, the owner must take the
completed MVT 10-1 and the power of attorney provided by the insurance company to
a designated agent to make application for title. Designated agents include County
License Plate Issuing Officials.
5. If the application is being obtained for a “first Alabama title” an inspection of the
vehicle will be required by the designated agent.
6. The designated agent will return the MVT 10-1, power of attorney and application to
this Department for processing.
7. If the original MVT 10-1 is lost or an alteration is made, you can reprint the MVT 10-1
from this Dashboard.
