How Do I get Bonded?
It depends on the type of bond you need. There are thousands of bonds across the United States with a variety of requirements. Some can be purchased and downloaded immediately, while others require an application and approval process. In general, though, there are three steps to getting bonded:
- Buy or Apply
- Receive and File
Enter the Bond Republic store for your state and use our powerful Keyword Search
to find the bond you need. The best way to search for your bond is to enter a few words that describe it. The less you enter, the more bonds the system will find; the more you enter, the smaller the resulting bond list will be. Here are some examples:
Immigration Consultant [enter this phrase to shop for an immigration consultant bond]
Lost Title [enter this phrase to shop for a lost or defective title bond]
If you cannot find the bond you are looking for, simply give us a call at 866-992-3838 and we'd be happy to help.
Once you have located the bond you need, add it to your cart and check out. Our system will let you know whether you are able to buy the bond now, or if an application is required.
2) Buy or Apply
Depending on the type of bond, you may either buy it immediately or apply for it and then, if approved, buy it. If the bond requires an application, there's a good chance the surety will need to check your credit. You will also probably need to sign as indemnitor and, if you have a spouse, he or she will need to sign as co-indemnitor.
3) Receive and File/Present
After purchasing your bond from the Bond Republic, you will receive it using the delivery approach you have chosen from among the options we have available. Once you receive the bond, you must file it with or present it to the entity that requested it. License and Permit bonds, for example, are usually filed with a governmental office.
